Description and Impact

This organization works within the community to provide rehabilitation and education for persons with disabilities. Currently the organization sees around 350 clients across the country, and this number is increasing every day. Their mission is to work with people with disabilities, their families, and the community by way of Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR), advocacy and education. 

What is the overall goal of the project? This organization’s goals are to use participatory development as a method for integrating those with disabilities into the community. Essentially, they would like to empower those with disabilities to become active members of their community. 

 

What's Included

  • Homestay with a carefully-screened Belizean family
  • Daily meals (you will receive three meals a day)
  • Project funding and support
  • Onsite transportation, airport pickup and a stipend for return travel
