This project creates and evaluates ideas that make development work in Peru effective.  Analyzing the projects microfinance organizations have begun, in Cusco they focus on:

• Targeting the ultra poor and training them for microfinance opportunities
• Financial literacy training
• The impact of rural credit and interest rate elasticity

IPA is looking for interns to:

• Design piloting surveys
• Coordinate data collection
• Implement projects

It is through these efforts that we learn how best to help those who need it most. A two-month commitment, intermediate Spanish, SPSS and statistical programming experience are required.  Due to limited space, interns must apply three months in advance.
