A Heavenly Trifecta: Travel, Chocolate, and Conservation

Description and Impact

Due to globalization, cocoa production is becoming increasingly outsourced throughout the world. In Belize particularly, a handful of farms and factories produce the cocoa for large chocolate companies around the world. This family-owned business strives to keep their cocoa production sustainable and close to home. The cocoa is harvested, shelled, roasted, produced and sold on-site and within the country.

What is the overall goal of the project? The overall goal of this project is to produce local, organic, high quality chocolate as well as educate both Belizeans and foreigners as to the production process and benefits of keeping it close to home.
