Give Underprivileged Children a Chance

Description and Impact

Thousands of children live on the streets of Brazil because they are abandoned, orphaned or have suffered other abuses such as domestic violence. The root of this homelessness is extreme poverty, which often cause families to unravel as they do not have the resources to support their children. Life is hard for Brazilian street children who must scavenge for food and beg for money, and often fall victim to drug-related gang violence. ProWorld partners with a local children’s home that provides street children with medical, educational, and psychological support. The children’s home is a place of love and affection for children who have suffered so much at a young age. The home receives homeless children and those who come through the Salvador Juvenile Court System.

What is the overall goal of the project? The overall goal of this project is to provide abandoned, abused, and orphaned children with the love and support that they need.

  • Provide Children with Basic Needs – The children’s home provides children with love, care, food, and medication when necessary.
  • Quality Education– This program provides children with an education and English classes.
