Help Kids with Disabilities in School | Overview
Description and Impact
Because their needs can be both great and varied, children and adults with disabilities are often neglected the care and education they deserve.
What is the overall goal of the project? This organization provides specialized instruction and life skills training to children with Down’s Syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism and other physical and developmental delays. During normal school hours, students are divided into classes based on age and type of disability. In the late afternoons and early evenings, the organization provides classes for adults with disabilities as well as students who attend normal school in the mornings. The school also works with two physical therapists and a psychologist, each of whom provides individualized services for students at the school.
