Our Shared Challenge

Our planet, and the billions of people on it face a great and pressing need to change if we are to alleviate the profound human suffering and drastic ecological damage we are currently experiencing.
 
We have seen that the changes we need cannot address one issue alone, but rather the many interrelated socio, economic and environmental issues together. We know that these changes must be made by no single group but by all; and that they must be made by all people and all nations: rich, poor, north and south alike.

Many Parts to one Solution

We have seen that there is no single solution, no magic pot of money that alone can address the breadth of our challenges as an interconnected planet. We do not have the luxury of looking for answers only with large international aid organizations like, USAID, UNICEF, Gates Foundation, Red Cross; or only with the grassroots not for profit organizations, charities or even corporate donations. ProWorld recognizes that all types of entities can be valued allies and partners, and that cross sector collaboration is imperative for our project successes.

ProWorld - A Social Enterprise Model

At ProWorld we realized many years ago that there existed an enormous opportunity to be part of the change needed by tapping into the vast travel and education sector.  We set about creating a social enterprise to address this opportunity. As a social enterprise we knew we could use a business model to generate public good and alleviate poverty: all with money earned through the business ProWorld was building.
 
In promoting and selling powerful and cultural experiences to its participants, ProWorld finances 99% of all its projects and community support. In this way, ProWorld successfully serves two sets of customers, the participant and the poor community members we collaborate with to execute our poverty alleviation and conservation projects.
 
Participants of ProWorld projects should recognize the distinct role they play in the innovative funding of these ongoing projects, for it is only with their participation that we have been able to achieve this over the years.
